In res, srkamo (prav počasi) tisto kavo in opazujemo vreme.

Uuuu, it was croudy last Saturday – only three of us managed to get some time to visit Brimšca cave 🙂 Warm spring sun was shining when we were loading stuff and ourselves into the car and start driving towards Kozina – standard and mandatory coffee point. Close to coffee it suddenly got cloudy and hard rain began to fall. OMG – why do we always need to be that lucky? We drank that coffee really slowly and looked into the sky. No mercy. We were also thinking of any alternative caves nearby – and normally we had NO idea. 🙂 At last it stopped raining and we didn’t wait a minute when we departed towards the cave.  It was cold but it didn’t rain.

Nobody volunteered to rig entrance pit and I had no choice but to do it myself and wait at the bottom – Nace took my photo gear. He would do anything just not to rig the cave for others J. Photo below was taken on our way out, but this nice looking entrance deserves to be shown at the very beginning of “story.”

Andreja was squealing when leaning over the edge and at the bottom she silently admitted that there was some fear present. To be honest I always have some respect (fear is not something a grown man, experienced caver would admit???) on the point where I need to lean myself over the edge. When dangling on the rope below everything is back to normal again. J This cave is short, cold but picturesque. We first depart to the end of the left part and start our photo session.

On the above photo there is visible signature of a lady that has been there in 1942 – all respect for cavers in those days, but these signatures really don’t fit into cave. Used to be some kind of a sport to sign in every cave someone visited it. Luckily we are seeing a lot of improvements with this kind of behavior – at least real cavers have good manners.

And again – repeating myself – taking photos J Because of cold Andreja and Nace were struggling staying still for 10 seconds or more – so we did repeat a lot! Home behind my computer I have found some photos which would need to be repeated, but that is just how it is. Can’t see all flaws on small DSLR screen.

This time I also took macro extension tube with me – and we got some nice photos with it. I must make this my “always with me equip.”

We headed back towards entrance hall to get warmer (well as much as we could).

From there we went to the other part of the cave, where at the end there are footpaths marked with tape, since everything around is so fragile and every footstep would make inerasable mark. Before that part we found on top of almost every stalagmite small pebbles just waiting to become real cave pearls.

I am assuming that most of them are put there by visitors – hopefully not with goal to get them after some years and take them – these beautiful formations are only nice and shiny in natural environment.

Time is running like crazy underground (unnoticeable), so we departed back on the surface and onwards to well-deserved ending – pizza and beer.

Lepe fotke! Res lepe.
