Club for cave exploring from Kranj organized meeting of cavers from gorenjska region in front of a cave called Brezno pri Leško Planini and since we have two caving course participants, we didn’t want to miss this opportunity to visit the deepest cave on Jelovica.
It was hard for me to admit (to myself) that this visit is not about taking photos in cave… but I did take some equipment, so we could document some moments – and both course participants admitted, that it is excellent when I am taking photos, so that they can catch some breath. 🙂 I don’t even remember, when the last visit of cave without my camera was.
There was a lot of interest for visiting the cave – at the end 30 people entered – 15 of them departed to the bottom (-534m) and 15 of us descended just to the first hall – Pearl hall (approx. -240m).
This was first more “serious” descent for our course participants and I admit I did enjoy watching their shaking hands above the abyss. 🙂 Despite their nervousness and adrenalin rush they did their job excellent. We spent most of the time in Pearl hall photographing big thick stalagmite in shape of… well you be the judge (maybe only cavers have such perverted thoughts… 😀
I could take photos at the bottom of Pearl hall on and on and…
And since I had carried my tripod all the way… we did lighten up part of this huge hall.
Just below the long descent/ascend 45 meters of abyss, there are interesting layers of material – which I was told later that this is the sign, that big river used to flow through this cave.
Back on rope and towards surface…
Series of shorter abysses took us closer to the surface – and we were out.
Hvala članom DZRJK še enkrat za gostoljubje!
Thanks to members of DZRJK once again for their hospitality!
