On Friday I had the honour to join working day with members of DZRJL in Sušnikova jama cave on Lubnik hillside. Access to the entrance is not long… but steepness and all leaves and some snow and caving footwear – rubber boots – it was hard sometimes… Well, good news is that if you would slip, you would end up right beside our parked car 🙂

Strm dostop

Somehow we managed to fit ourselves near the entrance, tying or attaching our stuff wherever possible, trying not to drop something down the hill 🙂 Before entering, I was just shocked by Diba’s caving suit – it is just a year old – but it looks like it has been in both WW.

We descend into the warmth – it feels warm even on the entrance – this is also probably the reason, that after discovering this cave nearly 21 years ago, continuation is seeked again…

I really don’t know – was I that slow, but even before I could reach first guys that entered the cave – I already heard work in progress, they were already hammering…

Near working place we had a little biddy hanging and we were always watching him if “it” would show any signs of awakening – this is not something we would hope for… but he slept through all action 🙂

Pa sem moral vmes malo težit in fotkat rov kjer se širi in poizkuša najti nadaljevanje… pritoževal se ni nihče 🙂

Since I had my camera with me, I just had to stop work in progress and take some photos of the part where all the action was happening – nobody complained 🙂

No ja,… nekaj metrov več je že.

Passing the equipment forth and back… and suddenly first two were gone – yes, we had a breakthrough! Ehm… for a couple of meters. We climbed into a crack which soon narrows – but there is still much air flow and we didn’t loose hope already. It will take one, two, three more visits to advance further.

And being so close to the top, we hiked to house on Lubnik for 0,5l of cold refreshing beer. We took of our caving suites in front, so we wouldn’t make a mess inside 🙂
